Documentation

Practical guides — from your first PDF to Revisions, Tutor, classes, gradebook, and billing.

How a typical session looks

Upload & index

Drop course PDFs into your library so Rubidy can index them.

Generate in Revisions

Create summaries, sheets, flashcards, or quizzes from one indexed PDF.

Ask the Tutor

Chat for help — grounded if sources are selected, generalist otherwise.

Class or group

Submit class work or collaborate in a study group.

Getting started

Create your account, choose Learner or Teacher, then upload your first PDF and index it. From there you can open Revisions or the Tutor — they are separate tools.

  1. Sign up and confirm your email
  2. Pick your role (you can join classes later)
  3. Upload a course PDF and wait until indexing is ready
  4. Either generate a revision from that PDF, or ask the tutor with it selected

For learners

Revisions create study assets; the Tutor is a chat that helps you understand and work through homework.

  1. Revisions tab: summaries, sheets, flashcards, quizzes from one indexed PDF
  2. Tutor: chat with selected sources (RAG) or generalist with none
  3. Classes: content, assignments, remediations, grades
  4. Export revisions to PDF and flashcards to Anki when available

For teachers

Class tabs do the heavy lifting: Content, Assignments, Gradebook. The Assistant is optional chat support.

  1. Create a class and invite learners with a code
  2. Build modules in Content; generate module quizzes and assignments from indexed PDFs
  3. Auto-grade MCQs; use Gradebook views (matrix / student / activity)
  4. Run gap analysis, create remediation quizzes, export PDF/CSV reports

Documents & RAG

Indexing makes a PDF usable for tutor chat (when selected) and for generation in Revisions or class wizards.

  1. Prefer clear text PDFs; scans use OCR when available
  2. Select PDFs in the Tutor only when you want grounded answers
  3. Create revisions from the Revisions tab (one indexed PDF)
  4. Teachers generate quizzes/assignments from Content / Assignments — not from the Assistant

Classes & groups

Teacher classes and peer study groups are different: classes carry grades; groups are for collaboration.

  1. Teachers own class settings and announcements
  2. Learners see assigned work, remediations, and shared resources
  3. Groups: chat, shared docs, and shared revisions
  4. Only share what classmates should see

Plans & credits

Free tiers help you explore; Plus/Pro unlock higher limits. Billing is monthly or yearly with an annual discount when offered.

  1. Compare Learner vs Teacher plans on the Pricing section
  2. Upgrades apply immediately; purchased credits follow plan rules
  3. Manage subscription from your account in the app
  4. Billing questions → contact@rubidy.com
